New Beginnings
by Karen Humphrey
66" x 66"

After every storm life begins anew. The air is fresh and clean. The birds come out to sing. Flowers bloom and butterflies frolic.

With the diagnosis of cancer lives change. Each day begins with new challenges and a new outlook on what is important in life. The colors and pattern of this quilt were chosen as a symbol of those new beginnings. From the darkness flowers bloom as they are kissed by butterflies.

This quilt is dedicated to the memory of my mother Dorothy Ann Miller Schedler Park who began her new life in heaven with God on December 25, 2006, after losing her battle with kidney cancer. She became an inspiration to us all as she took on the battle of her life.

Donated to the St. Martin de Porres Church Chicks Relay For Life team as their team fund raiser for the May 2-3 event.
